Adding Text tracks

Text tracks display text within a movie. A typical example is the subtitling of movies. You can also add messages to your movie to enhance the visual experience. You can link the text to a URL so that when visitors click the word or phrase, a Web page will appear.

To insert a Text track:

1 With a movie open in the Movie Viewer, click the Show TimeLine Window button ().

2 Drag the Text Track icon from the QuickTime tab () of the Objects palette onto the track list area of the TimeLine Window.

3 Set the track properties as necessary. See Setting the properties of a video or other visible track for details on setting properties.

4 In the TimeLine Window, click the small triangle next to the track name to expand the Text track. You'll see the Sample track.

5 With the Create Sample tool, place a sample bar in the content area of the TimeLine Window and drag it to the desired duration.

6 Make sure the Sample track is selected, then in the Text tab of the Text Sample Inspector, type the desired text in the Text field. Click Apply.

7 Align the text by choosing Left, Center, or Right from the Align pop-up menu.
